Wende Williams Micco, Senior Consultant
Wende Micco has 25 years' experience in the nonprofit sector serving in consultant, executive, management and board service roles. With a graduate degree in Organization Development, she offers expertise in a range of capacity-building areas, including strategic planning, leadership development, staff training and team-building, marketing communications and fund development planning.
Wende has served as a planning and management consultant to foundations, museums and organizations of national and regional scope, particularly in the fields of education, science, health, the environment and the arts. She has 18 years' senior fund development experience, including roles as marketing director, development director, major gifts officer and campaign director for prominent institutions such as the Sierra Club, Natural Resources Defense Council and the San Francisco Art Institute. In addition, Wende directed a capacity-building grants program for the California Arts Council, serving as a grantmaker and field representative to dozens of arts councils and cultural organizations throughout California.
As an adjunct faculty member with Golden Gate University in San Francisco, Wende has taught graduate marketing to MBA students, and has lectured on marketing at Bay Area colleges and universities. Wende is a board member of the national Association of Fundraising Professionals, Golden Gate Chapter, and former steering committee member with the Philanthropy Consultants Network. Wende served as a member of the Founder's Committee for the Wallace Stegner Environmental Center at the San Francisco Main Public Library; and as a board member with the national Earthshare, and Earthshare of California. Wende is an alumna of Sonoma State University and the University of California, Berkeley. She lives in the San Francisco Bay Area.
